What Are the Differences Between VS Factory 41mm Rolex Datejust and Products From Other Factories?

Many watch enthusiasts have noticed that EW Factory now offers a much wider range of Datejust models. They often compare EW pieces with those from VS and Clean Factories, as EW’s Datejust costs nearly a thousand less — a substantial price gap. Let’s start with the conclusion before diving into the factory details.

The subcontractors EW works with nowadays deliver decent quality. Its bracelets show minimal real-world difference from more expensive alternatives. I haven’t done in-depth side-by-side checks on dial printing, yet the overall discrepancies are nowhere near as big as the price difference suggests.

From an end-user perspective, EW’s movement produces slightly more noise. Moreover, its advertised 70-hour power reserve is hard to achieve solely through regular daily wear, with a somewhat lower winding efficiency. This is a case of differentiated positioning to keep costs under control. If you don’t have strict demands for movement performance, the EW Factory Datejust can be a solid option.

EW vs genuine watch comparison photos. The deep grey dial has been repeatedly calibrated against the genuine piece. Every detail closely replicates the genuine design, including verification of Rolex branding marks.
It uses the same font library and molds as the genuine, along with spherical embossing printing technology. The texture and font style are faithfully recreated. Even the way the whole watch is wrapped with protective film matches the genuine.

No more worries about being spotted as a fake. It features a solid center axle identical to the genuine.

EW really put in tremendous effort! When viewed under magnification, the transparency and font shape of the date wheel are nearly identical to the genuine. Beyond just revising the date typeface, the final visual effect comes from a combination of multiple factors: the gap between the date wheel and date magnifier, dial thickness, crystal thickness, the height and curve of the cyclops lens, and the transparency treatment of the crystal.

The dial features a large Roman numeral VI. The Oyster case is paired with a triangular grooved bezel. Soft subtle luster reflects from both sides of the case and lugs, accentuating the contours of the 41mm Oyster case and adding extra charm.

EW’s overall dimensions are nearly identical to the genuine watch. The case diameter is also 41mm, with a mere 0.01mm difference in thickness, measuring 11.8mm.

The winding crown adopts a double-lock dual waterproof system and screws securely onto the case. The crystal is crafted from sapphire, offering excellent scratch resistance. The waterproof Oyster case of the Oyster Perpetual watch provides optimal protection for the movement.

It adopts the same structure as the original Rolex Datejust. The locking details on the case back fully replicate those of the genuine Rolex Datejust. Visually, it looks identical to an authentic Rolex Datejust and is fully compatible with genuine original parts.

The laser engraving on the inner side of the clasp and exterior details perfectly recreate the texture of the genuine watch. The inner surface uses laser engraving technology to fully replicate the authentic finish.

The EW watch uses a stainless steel bracelet identical to that of the genuine piece. The width, dimensions and material allow it to fit on an authentic Rolex. Every single link is interchangeable with genuine Rolex parts while maintaining the same texture, delivering a truly faithful recreation.

The factory’s comparison materials do not cover the movement, which shows they are avoiding this weak point. Still, this is understandable given its price point.
