Replacing a watch strap is actually a straightforward task. Many customers who purchase our alligator straps can perform the replacement by themselves. There is great satisfaction in handling minor maintenance work on your own.You only need a small flathead screwdriver, which is available at local hardware stores or online shopping platforms, as shown in the picture below.

Insert the flathead screwdriver into the notch of the spring bar and apply inward pressure to compress it.

Once you detach one end of the strap, the opposite side will come loose automatically.

Reinstalling the strap is just as easy. Secure one end in place first. Use the screwdriver to press down the retractable part of the spring bar on the other end, then push the strap lug into the hole on the watch case until it clicks into position. The installation is then complete.

The component securing the strap is called a spring bar, which comes in a wide range of lengths and sizes. Spring bars are cheap and easy to purchase online.

A spring bar features compressible dual ends that fasten the watch strap firmly against the watch case. With this simple method, you will no longer need to visit professional watch repair shops for strap replacement work.
