New‑generation AF‑Factory Ballon Bleu models have been upgraded to the 2824 movement. This change follows Cartier’s adoption of a group‑wide base movement shared across entry‑level watches from Cartier, Panerai and other brands.
The calendar and hands adjustment direction on this new movement is reversed compared with the 2892, yet matches that of the 2824.
As we have mentioned before, the 2824 delivers better stability than the 2892 when case‑thickness limits are not an issue. The 2892 was fitted into certain watches solely to accommodate slimmer cases. That is why AF Factory has switched from the old 2892 movement over to the 2824.

AF Factory is the same manufacturer as ZF Factory, and PPF is also another alias for ZF. ZF operates many sub‑brands. Some of its watch models are not even produced in‑house.
