APS Factory Audemars Piguet AP15450 Review (37mm)

APS Factory’s AP15450 was released after the 15400, 15500 and 15510 models, expanding the AP product lineup. It uses the same integrated movement. Its mechanical performance and craftsmanship match those of its predecessors, so we won’t repeat the details here. Feel free to check our earlier articles if you are interested.

When talking about watch sizes, many people only look at specifications without considering real-world wear experience. Let me give you an example. A 40mm Rolex Yacht-Master appears relatively small. Its round case and slim profile do not deliver the same visual impression as a 40mm Submariner. In fact, caliper measurements on genuine examples show it does not quite reach 40mm; official dimensions should be referenced from Rolex. The same applies to the PP Nautilus 5711. Although listed at 40mm, it wears more like a 38–39mm watch.

Audemars Piguet watches, however, tend to wear larger because of their octagonal case shape. Take dive models such as the 15710 and 720 series. Even at 42mm, their thick construction gives them the visual and tactile feel of a 44mm watch.

Back to the AP Royal Oak collection. Slender wrists may find the 41mm 15400 slightly oversized, again due to the octagonal bezel plus the integrated bracelet connecting directly to the case, creating a visual size close to 43mm. For such wearers, the 37mm 15450 often fits perfectly. It visually reads like a 39mm dial. This is practical experience from my hands-on work, for your reference.

I won’t go into my personal opinion on this 15450. It is largely comparable to the 15400 and other 41mm Royal Oak models, differing only in case size. Let me quote the manufacturer’s description below:

The 15450ST comes with a standard 37mm case diameter. Compared with the 41mm 15400, the 15450 is a great option for wearers with slender wrists. It also works well as a women’s watch to form a couple set paired with the 15400.
The case uses 3D solid modelling based on genuine watch measurements, so its proportions fully match the original. All components are interchangeable with genuine parts. Both case and bracelet feature straight brushed finishing.
The bracelet defines the wearing experience most directly. APS invested heavily in bracelet finishing. The chamfers and end links of the bracelet are crafted with finer details, greatly boosting wearing comfort.
It houses the integrated Cal.3120 movement, fully interchangeable with the genuine movement. The exhibition caseback showcases the movement beautifully. Built upon the refinement of the 15400ST, this Cal.3120 movement is more stable and durable. Rigorous quality control keeps the failure rate extremely low.

There are three colour variants in total. I’ll only show the blue one for your reference. If you want a couple watch set, this model works perfectly for men and women pairing. It has strong recognizability.
