3K Factory has released the new 5811G, following the launch of the genuine Patek Philippe model. Originally, I planned to simply copy and paste the factory’s product introduction and post it in the new arrivals section. However, out of respect for the “King of Watches”, I decided to split this into two sections. I will cover the differences between the 5711 and 5811, which replica version is worth buying, the distinctions between the new and original genuine models, and the brand’s development direction. After all, constant discussions about replica watches tend to be repetitive and lack depth. New enthusiasts may treat this as watch knowledge, while seasoned collectors can read it for discussion.

Let’s start with replica watches. I won’t go into the PPF and ZF Nautilus models, as they feature integrated fake movements with dummy gears. Let’s focus on 3K Factory. Both its old and new models use the brand’s proprietary integrated movement, which will definitely be carried over to the new 5811G, possibly with nothing more than revised engravings. People may refer to it as the Cal.324 or Cal.330; it is essentially the same movement.
The case is stretched by 1mm to match the genuine version. Thanks to the Nautilus design language, a 40mm case visually wears more like a 38mm watch. For user operation, it replicates the genuine model’s fine-tuning bracelet and upgraded sizing. Inevitably, many will ask whether to buy the new or old replica. If you are shopping for a replica, the older model is arguably the better pick.
While the replica has copied the genuine hallmarks, it is still crafted from stainless steel. The genuine 5811G is made of white gold, and replicas cannot replicate the difference in metal density. Weight balancing is out of the question; the watch case is too thin to fit any counterweight inserts.
Furthermore, the older 5711 has no hack seconds function, while the 5811 does. I wonder whether the factory will add hack seconds specifically for the 5811. If they simply drop the existing 5711 movement inside, the 5811 replica will lack hack seconds, which becomes a major giveaway.
I will skip repeating points about craftsmanship and bracelet fine-adjustment, since these features remain consistent for watches from the same manufacturer. Keep the points above in mind when choosing between the new and old replica versions. I would prefer to shift the focus of this article to the genuine watch.

First, the Ref. 5711 was launched in 2006 and officially discontinued last year. After discontinuation, its market price surged. Only brands like Rolex, Patek Philippe, and to a lesser extent Audemars Piguet, possess such strong brand power to pull this off. For other brands such as Vacheron Constantin, Omega and IWC, once a model is discontinued, its price tends to decline.
I often get asked about newly released watches. The chase for new releases is mostly popular among replica watch buyers. When it comes to genuine high-value, iconic timepieces, collectors do not always rush to grab the latest version.
There are two movements fitted inside the genuine 5711. Early examples came with the Cal.324 movement, while later production pieces nearing discontinuation were fully upgraded to the Cal.330 movement. The 5711 retained its original exterior design for more than a decade. Iconic designs do not need frequent overhauls; constant redesigns would only erode brand value. A legendary collection only requires minor refinements. Even the new 5811G retains over 95% visual similarity to its predecessor. So what changes separate the new 5811G from the 5711G?
For the case, the 5811G is currently available only in white gold. As the brand’s CEO stated in an interview, Patek Philippe will shift its focus to precious metal timepieces in the future. Media speculates that after Audemars Piguet surpassed Patek Philippe in revenue in 2021, Patek’s strategy to maintain low production volume and high profit margins is to push precious metal models with higher price tags.
At its peak, the steel 5711 commanded a market premium of over 600,000. It remains to be seen where the spot price of the precious-metal 5811G will land, but it will undoubtedly be astronomically expensive. With an official retail price already around 400,000, doubling in premium would likely be the bare minimum for this iconic “King of Watches”. Many enthusiasts dislike paying above retail markup. That is understandable; you could opt for Vacheron Constantin as the next tier, yet even VC watches are now trading above list price.
Structurally, the 5811G adopts a two-piece case construction. This design is meant to simplify disassembly and reduce servicing costs, with little noticeable impact for end users and minimal visual difference. I suspect another motivation is to cut precious metal consumption and preserve profit margins.
Its movement finally gains hacking seconds. The old 5711 lacked this function and was often mocked, with critics saying its movement was inferior to cheap watches. Still, heritage defines its identity, and the absence of hacking seconds became a signature trait of the 5711.
Both movements deliver a 45-hour maximum power reserve, with Patek Philippe guaranteeing an accuracy tolerance of ±3 seconds per day. In real-world use, the difference is barely perceptible. The bracelet adds a new micro-adjustment system with a 3mm to 6mm adjustment range. There is no need to elaborate on the display caseback movement finishing; the craftsmanship is impeccable, with flawless screw threads even under a magnifying loupe. This watch is crafted for affluent buyers. It is a case of paying ten times the price for marginal gains, and all that premium goes toward achieving absolute perfection.

The disassembly procedure differs slightly from prior models. The case back and case body are integrated. To remove the movement, simply unscrew the lateral screws and take off the top cover, then the movement can be extracted. By contrast, the older 5711 requires full disassembly of the top, middle and bottom sections. It remains unknown whether 3K Factory will replicate this new structure for its replica version. If it fails to adopt the updated design, I believe the replica 5711 will still be a better pick than the new 5811 replica.

What will the initial landed price be for this 5811 upon its first arrival? If you have a budget of 1 million and can acquire this watch for 800,000, it would represent outstanding value for money! That said, the market price will likely exceed 1 million, by my estimation.
