Previously, this reference was only available from factories such as AR, GM and GS. AR, much like JF Factory, is practically on the verge of shutting down. GM and GS submariner‑style replicas belong to the market’s second‑tier segment; they offer little advantage in movement performance and only hold merit on price.
For the VS version, the two‑tone steel‑and‑gold bracelet is finely executed with no unsightly bare‑steel show‑through. The movement delivers a 72‑hour power reserve, matching the genuine watch. This complete power‑train assembly is identical to the unit VS employs for its Submariner replicas. PVD coating is utilised for the two‑tone gold finish, ensuring respectable durability.
This movement is widely known, having long been fitted inside the 41 mm Submariner.
VS Factory’s diver‑watch lineup currently only includes the 40 mm and 41 mm Submariner, the red‑text “Little King”, and the two‑tone “Little King”. The large‑size Deepsea variant has not been released and will most likely never arrive. The Deepsea suffers from an awkward case dimension.
If you prefer VS‑grade quality yet wish to avoid the overly‑common Submariner, these two Little King models make excellent alternatives. Measuring 43 mm across, they are slightly thicker than standard Submariners. They deliver comparable water‑resistance performance and identical clone‑movement specifications.
Uneven gold exposure at the gaps of two‑tone bracelets has long been a well‑criticised flaw within this watch series. The VS version guarantees no uneven coating at the bracelet joints.
