VS Factory Rolex Submariner with Dandong 3235 Movement vs Clean Factory Submariner Which Is More Reliable?

I will not paste the full copy here. Overall, the two factories produce watches with largely similar appearances and details. Previously, VS Factory claimed it used Clean’s bezel — isn’t that exactly the same bezel from C Factory? Comparing their ceramic bezels yields little meaningful difference. Each side has its own marketing narratives for dials, hands and other components, which I will not dissect at length.

One important note: since VS Factory ran into operational issues, its spare parts supply chain has become unstable. Serial numbers, dial components and other parts are supplied inconsistently. The component quality across batches sometimes deviates from their advertised specifications. Watch out if you tend to rely solely on marketing descriptions and promotional claims.

I’d also like to touch on the bracelets. VS Factory sources its bracelets from an independent strap manufacturer. While they are a noticeable upgrade over N Factory bracelets, I still find shortcomings in clasp operation and edge finishing. Specifically, the sharp corners can catch on the skin, and the clasp feels stiff when opening and closing. In contrast, the bracelets supplied by the AR subcontractor used by Clean Factory demonstrate superior craftsmanship.

3K Factory and BT Factory also source Daytona bracelets from this same supplier. Their bracelets feature rounded edges that closely match the genuine. When it comes to bracelets, VS Factory’s offering fails to live up to its marketing claims.

The movements are also quite interesting. Both the 3135 and 3235 movements used by VS Factory are manufactured by a Dandong movement maker under exclusive contractual agreements. This arrangement restricts the Dandong movements from being supplied to other factories, though that does not mean these movements are exceptionally advanced.
Key characteristics of this movement: it delivers nearly 70 hours of power reserve, features a calendar retrograde function, and the circled shock absorber in the photos closely resembles the original.

C Factory’s 3235 movement is produced by the Shanghai movement factory. It also features retrograde calendar and a 70-hour power reserve. There are minor visual differences between its shock absorber and the Dandong version. In truth, there is no need to nitpick over the movements. They are affordable Chinese-made movements, and their mechanics are hidden beneath solid casebacks. Hardly anyone would open the case and bring the watch to an authorized dealer.

It is worth noting that C Factory’s older 40mm 3135 movement comes from Dandong, stemming from a prior cooperation agreement. Now for warranty support. Undoubtedly, VS Factory used to produce excellent exclusive movements for Panerai, Seamaster and other lines. However, after the brand expanded and encountered operational troubles, its after-sales service deteriorated badly. If alternatives of equal quality are available, VS will not be our first recommendation, as faulty watches are virtually unrepairable.
