Summer is here again, the season to show off your wrists. Let me recommend a lesser-known yet excellently crafted watch: the vintage tonneau-shaped Piaget timepiece. KZ Factory rose to fame with its Master Collection twin calendar watch and now focuses mainly on niche watch models. The factory delivers top-tier overall workmanship. If you love rare timepieces, check out the introduction from the manufacturer:

Viewed from the front, inferior replicas have an extra row of diamonds along the left and right bezel slopes. For the top and bottom edges of the bezel, KZ Factory uses 16 set diamonds matching the genuine piece, while cheaper versions feature 17 diamonds, which is incorrect. The Piaget logo on KZ models is silk‑printed on the crystal just like the authentic watch, whereas lesser factories print the logo directly on the dial. KZ’s minute hand has a finished capped tip, but low-grade replicas use a thin second-hand slice that greatly ruins the aesthetics.

The hour markers on KZ Factory’s dial follow the genuine reference. Their length, size and edges are more precisely proportioned compared with those from lesser factories, matching the rectangular case perfectly. The most significant and obvious improvement lies in the dial diamonds. As noted in the product description, KZ arranges the diamonds in descending size order. In contrast, cheaper replicas use diamonds of uniform size across the entire dial. For instance, diamonds between the 5‑minute and 10‑minute marks form four identical rows, completely losing the core design characteristic of the authentic watch.

Diamonds are set along the side of the case. Following the original drawings, KZ Factory arranges the stones according to the case contour: the largest diamond sits at the central apex, with stones gradually shrinking in size extending left and right. By contrast, low-end replicas use diamonds of the same uniform specification everywhere — from dial to bezel and case — to cut production costs.

Viewed from any angle, the diamonds on the dial are undeniably arranged in a stepped radial pattern. It perfectly captures the essence of the genuine original watch. Featuring highly transparent stones imported from Sri Lanka, the light brilliance across the whole watch closely matches that of the authentic piece.

Open the case back and you will find that KZ Factory equips the watch with an unadorned ultra-thin Citizen 9015 movement. It adopts a sunburst-finished 316L stainless steel inner cover secured by four fixing screws. By comparison, low-grade replicas use the 2836 movement with incorrect thickness and come with a plastic inner cover!

KZ Factory adopts an 8-screw case back following the original design, marking a major breakthrough. Due to previous limitations on movement dimensions, low-end manufacturers failed to replicate the 8-screw structure without in-depth research. KZ’s dedicated R&D effort demonstrates great craftsmanship sincerity. In addition, the logo engraved on KZ’s case back strictly follows the genuine watch. Each watch carries a unique non-repeating serial number, one watch one number.

For the diamonds on the bezel, KZ Factory overcame technical hurdles and set only a single row of stones sized in accordance with genuine specifications. The result is flawless and instantly brings out distinct layered visual effects across the watch. In contrast, the diamonds on low-end replicas are completely inaccurate. To fill up empty space, extra diamonds are added to form an additional row, which compromises the overall appearance.

Even the tiny crown has been carefully researched by KZ Factory. Check out the macro high-definition comparison pictures for reference!

Moving on to the clasp: it is fully set with diamonds. Both the genuine Piaget and the KZ replica feature a fully pavé diamond clasp, and KZ has produced the version that comes closest to the original.
