Case: While retaining the original 42.4 mm case diameter, the new Portugieser Seven‑Days reduces case thickness from 14.1 mm down to 13 mm. Thirteen millimetres is widely regarded as a critical benchmark for thinness and wearing comfort. This 1‑millimetre reduction matters enormously for this dress‑oriented timepiece, putting an end to complaints that this dress watch is thicker than a Submariner.

Crystal: To achieve a slimmer profile, IWC utilises a domed box‑shaped sapphire crystal. It grants more clearance for hand movement and greatly enhances visual appeal. APS spares no expense by fitting a matching domed box‑style sapphire crystal on the case‑back, offering unobstructed views of the exhibition‑back movement.

Dial: Noticeable differences exist between the new‑generation and older‑generation dials. The updated version removes the railroad‑track scale surrounding the small‑seconds sub‑dial at the 9‑o’clock position. Meanwhile, the numeral “1” on the power‑reserve indicator at 3‑o’clock no longer features red colouring. These design refinements deliver a cleaner, more sophisticated appearance and strengthen the dial’s visual unity.

Movement: It carries over the existing movement with a 3‑to‑4‑day power reserve, which boasts solid reliability. A newly‑available steel‑bracelet variant joins the lineup. The bracelet comes with quick‑release end‑links and commands a slight price premium over the leather‑strap edition.
