BT Factory launched its full rose gold Daytona collection (12 color variants) ahead of the Lunar New Year. It comes equipped with the Cal.4130 movement, deep high-transparency sapphire crystal, fully upgraded set of hands, revised C ceramic bezel, sunken crystal technology, and fluororubber strap embedded with memory alloy steel sheet. It features a solid center axle identical to the genuine piece and real gold plating technology claimed to resist fading for 10 years. Is the 10-year no-fade claim a bit overhyped?
Let’s recap the key features of the BT Daytona: 72-hour power reserve when fully wound, sapphire crystal, 904L stainless steel paired with AR Factory steel bracelet, ceramic bezel coated with platinum plating, Swiss luminous material, and 100-meter water resistance. The steel version with bracelet weighs 148 grams.
The BT Factory Daytona with Cal.4130 movement measures 12.2 mm thick for the updated 2022 edition, while older versions are 12.4 mm thick. Other competitors on the market use modified 7750 movements with fake spacer plates. They reduce movement thickness simply by shortening pin stems, resulting in extremely poor stability and failing to match the genuine watch.
The Cal.4130 movement originates from the former Dandong N Factory. Its rear plate features engravings and electroplated lettering with enhanced brightness. The steel bracelet is sourced from the original AR Factory. Furthermore, the clasp has been upgraded with revised proportions and dimensions. The case is machined by N Factory according to the latest 2022 genuine reference. It updates the polished glossy caseback dimensions and the curve of the case knurled edge. Watch hands are further upgraded by Buff Factory. All three sub-dial hands plus the central seconds hand are custom-made individually with solid hand sleeves, featuring mushroom-shaped rounded tips.
The Cerachrom ceramic bezel receives another upgrade with platinum plating to preserve the color of markings, alongside revised font weight. The dial references the 2022 white dial from the genuine watch. It uses Swiss ink blended with Korean ceramic material and refined to achieve a thick, creamy off-white tone with zero color deviation from the original, doing away with the dull, grayish white seen on older market pieces.
Each hour marker is individually CNC machined, and every marker’s edge is hand-finished. Swiss luminous powder is applied, matching the luminous hue of genuine watches to deliver the closest glow effect to the original available on the market.
The crystal is fully transparent sapphire without bulky rounded edge distortion, a common flaw found on crystals from other manufacturers. Only BT Factory replicates these fine details consistently with the genuine timepiece.
BT Factory earned substantial profits from its 3K Patek Philippe collection and has now moved on to produce Daytonas. Leveraging its model advantages, it holds roughly equal market share with Clean Factory. Clean, BT and VS are locked in fierce competition. Clean adopts a relatively distinctive strategy: no price cuts, with separate mould development for every colour variant. It consistently launches standout features to capture market demand. Without meticulous craftsmanship, it would struggle to sustain sales at its premium price point.
In my opinion, the BT and Clean Daytonas achieve about 98% similarity. The remaining minor differences lie in the colour accuracy of dials across various colourways. Clean provides genuine-versus-replica comparison samples from each moulding iteration. Market feedback shows Clean delivers better colour fidelity for certain special hues.
If colour matching and chromatic aberration are top priorities for you, I highly recommend sticking with mainstream colours. BT currently boasts the largest shipment volume and likely the best market sales, followed closely by Clean. There is also a small segment of products imitating the old N Factory Cal.4130.
